“A Bedtime Poem for parents to read to their children whilst they look at the pictures and fall asleep.”

During the late 60’s while Peg was living in Woodstock, Nr Oxford she painted a whole series of oil paintings for a children’s book about her young son Daniel, his brown Burmese cat Brindl and the doves that lived in the garden. Her husband Yorick, a philosopher and poet, wrote a poem to accompany the paintings.

Doves are an ongoing theme in her paintings throughout her life. Whilst painting for this book she kept young doves in a box on her studio window to paint to observe up close.

This remarkable pair of poet and artist have written a charming book, one quite unlike any I have come across. I congratulate them. I adore their book and recommend it warmly
— John Bayley, husband of Iris Murdoch - both of whom were close friends of Peg and Yorick
